Ricardo van Rhijn is a former Dutch international and player of Ajax, Club Brugge and AZ Alkmaar, among others. Ricardo van Rhijn began his professional soccer career in Ajax's youth academy. At Ajax, Van Rhijn played throughout his youth training as a central defender, the position where he also debuted in the first team under then head coach Frank de Boer. With Ajax, he won the national championship three times and the Johan Cruijff Schaal, as well as more than 30 matches in action in the Champions League and the Europa League. During his time with Ajax, he also made his debut for Oranje and got to wear the shirt of the Dutch national team eight times. He made the switch to Club Brugge in 2016, with whom he played in the Champions League. With two Belgian Super Cups in his pocket, Ricardo then played for AZ, SC Heerenveen, FC Emmen and German Karlsruher SC.
