Johnatan Opoku is an easy-scoring striker from Jeddah Sports Club of Saudi Arabia. The Ghanaian-Dutch professional footballer can be deployed as an attacking midfielder or striker. Johnatan is considered a late bloomer who only made the transition from amateur to professional soccer at the age of 21. From 2011 until his bankruptcy in 2013, Opoku played for SC Veendam, before transferring to FC Oss in 2013. In his final year with FC Oss, he personally ensured that FC Oss qualified for the playoffs in a long time. In 34 games, Opoku accounted for 17 goals, won the bronze bull as best player and made the switch to VVV-Venlo. With the club from Venlo, he became champion of the Jupiler League in the 2016 - 2017 season and promoted to the Eredivisie. Johnatan, with his club VVV-Venlo, played for the third consecutive season at the highest level in the Netherlands. Since the summer of 2020, Johnatan transferred to De Graafschap. In the summer of 2022, Johnatan made the switch to Jeddah SC from Saudi Arabia.
