Jhondly van der Meer is one of SC Cambuur's biggest talents and international of Haiti. Jhondly has broken through at the Leeuwarden club this season and is making frequent minutes in the Eredivisie. The central defender cum right back is known for his good passing, physical strength and insight. Jhondly started playing soccer at the age of seven at the local amateur club Leeuwarder Zwaluwen. Jhondly's talent was quickly noticed. In the E's, the all-rounder was scouted by SC Cambuur and invited to participate in the professional club's soccer school. After two years of training at a high level, Jhondly joined the youth training of the club from Leeuwarden in 2013. Via the Under-13,-15 and -17 the midfielder was advanced to the Under-19 and Under-21 of SC Cambuur. Since this season he has been a regular in SC Cambuur's selection in the Eredivisie.
